BWE Drilling is a diversified drilling services contractor providing specialised drilling, blasting, exploration and waterwell drilling services in the mining and construction sectors through our three business units: Drill & Blast, Exploration and Waterwell.
Across the BWE Drilling group we employ over 300 employees and are going through an unprecedented period of growth and expansion.

Our BWE Drilling - Drill and Blast business unit provides full production drilling and specialty blasting services across the civil and mining industries. Our range of services are all performed with minimal disturbances to the surrounding environment and construction areas.

Job Description

What You'll Do:

  • Full P&L responsibility for the business unit, including monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting
  • Responsible for overseeing the operational activities for the Drill & Blast business unit
  • Drive rigorous cost control across all operations, analysing variances and implementing corrective actions
  • Develop and track KPIs to monitor revenue, margins, and cost efficiencies, ensuring profitability targets are met
  • Develop and execute strategies to win new contracts and expand the client base
  • Represent BWE Drilling at industry events and networking opportunities to enhance brand presence and market share

What You Bring:

  • at least 10 years' experience in a similar senior management role within a drill and blast contracting environment
  • a proven background in managing complex projects with successful stakeholder engagement
  • proven experience with management oversight of site based personnel
  • a strong understanding of asset management and inventory management
  • experience ensuring ongoing compliance to Safety and Business Management System
  • well-developed communication skills
  • strong computer skills using Microsoft and inventory control software applications
  • sound analytical and evaluation skills
  • a diploma in Frontline Management, Surface Operations or similar
  • current HR Drivers licence (essential)
  • a National Police Clearance (essential)
  • current Senior First Aid Certificate (desirable)
  • a current WA Shot Firer's Ticket (desirable)
  • Quarry Managers Certification (desirable)
  • Current S26 Certification (highly desirable)
